C/R: Police Invade Nikanika and Adeade Galamsey Sites

The Special Anti-Galamsey Task Force has invaded two illegal mining sites in the Central Region.

The coordinated operation was conducted at Nikanika and Adeade on June 20, 2025.

The team first stormed Nikanika where they met a deserted site. However, it retrieved one single-barrel shotgun loaded with a cartridge and three water-pumping machines.

From there, it proceeded to Adeade where three suspects identified as Prosper Quansah, Chrispin Nartey, and Owusu Gambra, were arrested.

Among the things retrieved were one SANY excavator, four unregistered Haojin motorbikes, and one low bed vehicle with registration number GN 2136-24.

“The suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigations, while all exhibits have been secured in police custody,” a police statement on June 23 said.
