C/R: 3 Killed, 11 Injured in Ajumako Kokoben Crash

Three people have been confirmed dead and eleven others injured after a head-on collision between a Toyota Isuzu and a Toyota Voxy.

The accident occurred at Ajumako Kokoben in the Central Region on Monday, July 20, 2026.

The Ghana National Fire Service said its personnel responded to the crash and rescued four victims who were trapped in the wreckage.

Passersby had already pulled out seven other injured persons before firefighters arrived.

All 11 injured were handed over to medical personnel for treatment.

According to the GNFS, firefighters also secured the accident scene and worked to restore the free flow of traffic.

Preliminary reports indicate the collision occurred after the Toyota Voxy allegedly attempted a high-speed overtaking manoeuvre in dusty conditions.

Investigations into the incident are however, ongoing.

The Service has reiterated calls on drivers to exercise caution, especially on dusty roads and during overtaking, to prevent further loss of lives.
