BoG Moves to Cut Delays for X Content Creators, Says Group Has No Political Ties

The Bank of Ghana says it is implementing measures to significantly reduce delays in funds received by Ghanaian content creators on X, following a meeting with a group of the creators on April 22, 2026.

The Bank stressed that the group “has no political affiliation” and engaged the central bank “solely as concerned content creators seeking a practical resolution to a legitimate issue.”

In a statement issued today, the Bank said it takes the concerns seriously and is working with all relevant parties to remove bottlenecks in the payment process.

The funds in question are classified as export proceeds, the Bank clarified.

“We are working with all relevant parties to remove bottlenecks and ensure a seamless process for legitimate beneficiaries,” the statement said.

The Bank added that it remains committed to “creating an enabling financial environment that supports innovation, digital earnings, and Ghanaians participating in the global digital economy.”
