Ajax Scout For New Coach After Releasing Unfledged John Heitinga

Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax is in search of a new coach after releasing its Dutch manager John Heitinga.

It appears the services of Heitinga are not needed as the Club says they want a “more experienced” head coach now.

Heitinga took over after the Club sacked Alfred Schreuder at the end of January for recording a seven-match-winless string.

As part of the agreement, Heitinga was to head the Club for the remaining matches of the 2022/2023 season.

Under his six-month supervision, Ajax finished third in the Eredivisie. They also fell short in the KNVB Cup final.

Mislintat said, “On a personal level, this was a tough decision and it was not easy to tell him. John got on board to help the club in a difficult time, and he did that full of dedication. We are very grateful for that.”

“But I have concluded that Ajax needs a more experienced head coach. In the phase, we are in right now, and to better Ajax’s performance, that is of great importance.”

Ajax are now up for a new Manager.
