Ghana’s Black Princesses have been placed in Group C alongside France, South Korea and Ecuador for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, following the final draw held on Friday, May 15, 2026, in Lodz, Poland.
The draw comes shortly after the team secured their eighth consecutive qualification to the global showpiece. The Black Princesses advanced past Uganda with a 3-2 aggregate victory, winning the first leg 2-1 in Accra before holding firm for a 1-1 draw in the return fixture in Kampala.
Coach Charles Sampson has commended his squad for their resilience during the qualifiers and expressed optimism that the team can progress beyond the group stage this time around.
The 24-team tournament will be hosted by Poland from September 5 to September 27, 2026.
Ghana will be joined by fellow African representatives Nigeria, Benin and Tanzania as they look to make a strong impression on the world stage.
In Group C, the Black Princesses face a tough challenge against European powerhouse France, Asian side South Korea, and South American representatives Ecuador.
Reigning champions North Korea have been drawn in Group E with Portugal, Costa Rica and Colombia, while three-time winners USA were placed in Group D alongside Japan, New Zealand and Italy. Notably, giants Germany failed to qualify for the tournament.
The Black Princesses will now intensify preparations as they aim to make history by advancing from the group phase and posting Ghana’s best performance at the U-20 Women’s World Cup.
