A/R: One Person Arrested Over Murder of an Indian National
One person is in police custody, assisting with the investigation in connection with the murder of an Indian national in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.
The body of the victim, identified as Devendra Singh, was found by a team of police officers at the outskirts of Sabin Akrofuom inside his car boot with multiple knife stabs on April 25 after going missing.
“Upon inspection, the lifeless body of the deceased was discovered in the boot of the vehicle with multiple stab wounds,” a statement by the police said, adding that the Ashanti Regional Crime Scene Management Team processed the scene.
The body was then conveyed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the vehicle has been impounded for further investigations.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police has deployed a special team made up of intelligence officers and homicide investigators to support the Ashanti Regional Police Command in ongoing investigations and to ensure the arrest of all persons connected to this crime.
“The Police assure the public that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice and urge anyone with relevant information to assist the investigation,” it noted.
