An unspecified number of youths have been shot by armed robbers, the Ghana Police service has announced.

The incident transpired on Thursday, December 9 after four armed robbers robbed a mobile money merchant at Sawla in the Savannah Region.

The youths who saw the robbery attack dogged the robbers in an attempt to have them arrested, however, the robbers opened fire on them.

The Savannah Regional Police Command says it has mounted a manhunt to arrest the four.

The police say details about the incident will be communicated in due course.
