MultiChoice Makes U-turn on DStv, Says Renegotiated Offer Under Implementation

MultiChoice Ghana has backtracked on its earlier stance on the renegotiated DStv offer, which took effect today.

On Wednesday afternoon, the company issued a statement to clarify its earlier take on the matter.

It acknowledged the erroneous impression of a contradiction created over the value offering, which is effective today, 1 October 2025, and apologised for the same.

“We fully support the joint media statement that was issued by the Honourable Minister, Hon Samuel Nartey George and implementation of same has already commenced.”

It also added that the price negotiation Committee will reconvene in three months to evaluate the impact of this initiative as a periodic exercise.

It added, “There Is no restriction on a subscriber’s choice of a bouquet. This offer is available to both existing, returning and new customers from 1st October 2025.”

In its earlier statement, DStv Ghana labelled the offers as “We’ve Got You Promotion”, and said the promotion is the company’s gesture to give its customers even more value.

It noted that the said promotion will run from October 1, 2025, to December 31, 2025, contradicting earlier announcements by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, that this was a permanent renegotiated arrangement with MultiChoice Africa to give Ghanaians value for money.

As part of the renegotiated arrangement, subscribers who pay for Compact Plus will get upgraded to Premium; Compact subscribers will get upgraded to Compact Plus; Family subscribers will get upgraded to Compact; Access subscribers will get upgraded to Family; and Padi Package subscribers will get upgraded to Access.
