WN/R: Minister warns road saboteurs

The Western North Regional Minister  Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu has sent a stern warning to constituents of Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwa to desist from stealing government materials meant for construction of some road networks in the region particularly that of Sefwi Asawinso to Nkoronua Anaafo stretch.
“Anyone caught stealing any of the materials will be dealt with accordingly. stealing is a crime  we should not entertain it at all”, the Minister fumed during a presentation of construction materials to construction firm, Memphis Metropolitan Limited, for work to begin in some districts in the region.
Hon. Kingsley Aboagye Gyedu who doubles as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Constituency urged the surrounding communities such as Asawinso, Merewa, and  Nkronua whose jurisdiction  the construction firm has sited to base to protect both staff of Memphis Metropolitan Limited and the materials from criminals.
“We cannot allow a few criminals among us to stall our development in the larger interest of the majority so everyone should do his or her best to protect them from the criminals”, the MP admonished both opinion leaders and the residents in  the area.
Government has announced its intention to embark on a massive road construction project in 2020, describing the coming year as “The Year of Roads.”
Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, made the announcement in Parliament on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, as he presented the 2020 Budget Statement and Economic Policy of the Akufo-Addo’s administration.
He said Government has identified critical roads across each of the 16 regions and construction would begin on all these critical roads soon.
