Upcoming Akwasidae to Be Held Grandly to Mark Otumfuo’s 27th Enstoolment Anniversary

The next Akwasidae Festival will be celebrated in grand style at Dwabrem in the Manhyia Palace, coinciding with the 27th enstoolment anniversary of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The announcement was made by Baffour Kantankrankyi, Otumfuo Kyeame, on April 20, 2026, at the Asanteman Council meeting.

He said that preparations are underway to ensure the occasion reflects the significance of the milestone.

The event will take place on April 26, 2026.

Akwasidae, held every six weeks on the Asante traditional calendar, is a sacred day for honouring ancestors and affirming allegiance to the Golden Stool.

The linguist urged chiefs from all parts of Asanteman to come with their entourages.

Baffour Kantankrankyi added that ahead of the festival, EON3 Group will host a dinner in honour of Otumfuo on Friday, April 24, 2026.

The event will pay tribute to His Majesty’s 27 years of leadership and development-driven reign.

He also announced that Otumfuo will mark his birthday on May 6 with a church service.
