Two Residents of Ahenkro Arrested for Illegal Gun Possession
Two residents of Ahenkro in the Ashanti Region have been arrested for illegal possession of firearms.
They were rounded by the Ashanti North Regional Police Command on Friday.
A stament by the police said the two male suspects unlawfully had in their possession arms and ammunition.
“The suspects, Yaw Adu and Samando Dokurugu, alias Shapichino, were arrested on 16th May 2025 at the Ahenkro Lorry Station while riding a motorbike with registration number M-25-NR 1634.”
A search conducted on the suspects led to the retrieval of one Adler Tulpar Pump Action shotgun with serial number 24SA-1073, and three BB live cartridges from Samando Dokurugu.
They are suspected to be involved in recent incidents of night-time criminal activity in the area.
“Both suspects are in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations and will be put before the court.”
