Govt Revokes Post-election Public Service Appointments and Recruitments

The Mahama administration has ordered the annulment of all public service appointments and recruitments made under the erstwhile Akufo-Addo administration after December 7, 2024.
A circular signed by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah to heads of government institutions dated February 10, 2025, communicated this information.
According to him, these appointments did not follow established good governance practices and principles.
“Accordingly, all Heads of Government Institutions are hereby requested to take the necessary steps to annul any such appointments or recruitments and submit a comprehensive report on the actions taken to this Office by 17 February 2025,” he ordered.
It comes after Julius wrote to heads of government institutions directing them to furnish his outfit with data on employees added to the payroll since December 7, 2025.
He requested details including their names, designation, employee identification number, date of appointment and date added to payroll.
This, he said, was needed for transparency and accountability.
