Moments of Reflection Essential For Strengthening Path Ahead- Napo

Former Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, known as Napo, has emphasised the relevance of reflection to the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to the 2024 Vice Presidential Candidate of the party, moments like the one held on July 14, 2025, are imperative to set crooked paths straight.

“I joined party leadership and colleagues for an emergency NEC meeting at the Alisa Hotel in Accra. These moments of reflection and strategy are essential as we work together to strengthen the path ahead.”

Among the agenda of the party was the action of its 2024 Ablekuma North Parliamentary candidate, Akua Afriyie, to defy the party’s decision to boycott the rerun election in 19 polling stations.

The candidate who subsequently lost the election used the occasion to render an unqualified apology to the party leadership.

It is reported that the apology was duly accepted.

The cracks within the country’s largest opposition party appear to be much deeper than realized. The party after its unprecedented loss in the 2024 election is making efforts to rebuild and move forward.

Among the remedies it is taking is reforming its constitution.

It has also banned its members from publicising internal wranglings, saying the action denigrates the image of the party and widens cracks within the party.
