Fatawu Sulemana Returns To Medeama

Ghanaian defender Fatawu Sulemana has made a return to his boyhood club, Medeama SC after his premature stint at Al Merreikh Sporting Club in Sudan.

The 20-year-old is now on a two-year contract at the Tarkwa-based club.

“We are pleased to announce the re-signing of defender Fatawu Sulemana on a permanent contract. Fatawu, 20, has signed a two-year deal with the Ghana Premier League champions,” the 2023/2024 defending champions said in a press statement.

He joined the Sudanese Club in January 2023 on a two-year contract, however, the political instability in the country has necessitated his return home after terminating the contract.

The player is excited about his return and seeks to leverage on his time at the club in the past to assist them this season.

“It’s exciting to be back in Tarkwa. The situation meant I returned home to continue with my career,” Sulemana told medeamasc.org

“Reintegrating into the team has been made easy because I spent three years here before. The current group is very promising and I hope to play a major part in our ambitions this season.”

Medeama are now 11th on the league table with 20 points and three outstanding matches. They have so far won and lost six of their matches each with two draws to their name.
