Coach Zito is Like a Father to Us – Kwame Opoku

Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Opoku, says the playing body has found in Coach Karim Zito a father figure.

According to him, the cordial relationship with the coach sometimes feels strange.

“He has been a father figure to us. He is down-to-earth and relates to us in a friendly manner. We sometimes forget he is our coach. The cordiality sometimes feels strange to us. He is playing a father role.”

The man of the match in Sunday’s game made these statements after the 4-1 win against Dreams FC on Sunday, May 18, when he was asked about the relationship between the coach and the players.

Opoku got onto the score sheet twice and managed to get one assist, subsequently being crowned best player.

However, he said he was dissatisfied with the outcome as he believes he could have scored more goals.

“I’m not a happy man because I believe I could have done more. A couple of times, I had to make quick decisions, and I was flagged for offside countless times. I wasn’t happy because I thought I could have done more.”

The win has propelled Kotoko to fourth place in the league with 54 points.
