Sports Minister Admits He’s Unimpressed With Otto Addo’s Output

The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has expressed his reservations about the capability and competence of the head Coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo.

In a candid interview, he admitted he was unimpressed with his performance.

“If I tell you I am impressed, then it means I do not know my job. I am not. There is a lot of room for improvement.,” he told Citi FM.

This is on the back of the numerous errors he makes and takes responsibility for in his campaigns with the senior national male team.

“Even when you meet the coach himself, he admits that he got things wrong and takes responsibility. But the question is: for how long will you continue to take blame for wrong decisions?”

Despite the fact that Ghana is leading group I in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, its security is not yet absolute as the country has two more games to decide its fate, he underscored.

“We have not even qualified for the World Cup yet. We still need a win and at least a draw to comfortably say that, as far as our group is concerned, nobody can overtake us.”

The Minister also referenced the team’s failure to participate in the upcoming AFCON after the abysmal showpiece.

“Very soon, AFCON is going to start in Morocco. Are we going to be part of it? No, we will watch on TV.”
