Miss Black USA Lands In Ghana

The reigning Miss Black USA, Kennedy Lucas, has touched down in Ghana for her Heritage Pilgrimage.

She was welcomed at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) on Thursday by Board secretary of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Mr. Kofi Atta Kakra Kusi and Miss Tourism Ghana, Ms. Portia Mensah, officials from GTA’s International Affairs Office, and partners from Cultured Ghana.

She was sashed with the iconic “Visit Ghana – Centre of the World” as she was greeted with traditional drumming, dancing, and a rich display of Ghanaian hospitality and culture.

Lucas is in Ghana on a journey of reconnection, empowerment, and cultural exchange.

A statement by the GTA said she will visit the Cape Coast Castle and Makola Market as well as undertake an Accra city exploration and Batik-making experience.

She will also engage in philanthropic activities like distributing dignity kits to young girls through the Ghana Girls Legacy Initiative, founded by Miss Black USA’s own founder, Karen Arrington.

It stated that her mission aligns with the government’s Black Star Experience—highlighting Ghana as the leading gateway for diasporan return and cultural diplomacy.

“We’re excited about the impact her visit will have and proud to welcome her HOME.”
