Pooley Killing: NSA Adds Voice to Condemnation

The National Sports Authority (NSA) has joined the masses in condemning the stabbing to death of Asante Kotoko supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, known as Pooley, during the club’s weekend game against Nsoatreman FC.

In its condemnation, the Authority said the safety and security of spectators, players, and officials must remain the utmost priority.

“We condemn this heinous act and reiterate the National Sports Authority’s zero-tolerance policy on hooliganism in Sports, especially football,”  it communicated in a statement.

It therefore called for proactivity in the organisation of matches.

“We urge Matchday Security Officials to be vigilant and proactive in maintaining law and order within our stadia as always. We also emphasize the importance of paramedics being readily available to provide prompt medical attention in case of emergencies.”

The NSA used the occasion to convey their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, and the Kumasi Asante Kotoko fraternity.

“May the soul of the departed rest in peace and may we all work together to ensure a safer and more enjoyable football experience for all.”
