Police Service Unfolds 5 Security Arrangements Towards Ghana-Nigeria March In Kumasi

The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has put in place five “stringent” measures to facilitate the safety of players and supporters at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before, during and after the World Cup Qualifier march between Ghana and Nigeria slated for tomorrow, March 25, 2022.

The Police Service intends to deploy security personnel in and around the Baba Yara Sports Stadium as well as the Kumasi Metropolis.

Additionally, highway and motorbike patrols will be deployed along the eight entry routes into Kumasi and other adjoining regions, the police said in its statement.

Four roads including: Is my kitchen Restaurant stretch on the north of the stadium, Stadium Hotel stretch, connecting Amankwaatia school to TI Ahmadiyya school and Briginia to TI Ahmadiyya School will be blockaded by the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD), the police stated.

Furthermore, persons entering the stadium will be screened for offensive and lethal weapons by the Police in partnership with the National Security, it added.

Also, there will be a high alert for hooliganism at the stadium, the police assured.

The police service has urged the public to draw the attention of the Police to any suspicion in the course of the game.
