July 1 Holiday To Be Observed On July 4- Interior Ministry

The Ministry of Interior has announced that the Republic Day holiday on July 1 will be observed on July 4.

This is a decree by President John Dramani Mahama by Executive Instrument (E.I).

The decree is in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2021 (Act 601).

The Ministry in a statement urged the public to observe the statutory holiday as such throughout the country.

Meanwhile, Parliament has passed the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days (Amendment) Bill, 2025 to among other things shift midweek holidays to Fridays while weekend holidays move to Mondays.
