Robbers Shoot and Kill MoMo Vendor at Krofrom
A Mobile Money vendor has been shot dead by armed robbers at Krofrom in the Ashanti Region.
The victim identified as 27-year-old Patricia Nimako, met her untimely death on Thursday, February 13, 2025, after returning from withdrawing some money to transact her business at a nearby bank.
Eyewitnesses say two robbers arrived on a motorbike and shot the mother of one twice before making away with about GHC10,000.
“She had just arrived from the Absa Bank around. One of the robbers approached her shop under the pretext of withdrawing money. He was on a motorbike. The other one took the back door and forced himself into the shop with her after she had unlocked the door.
“I believe she struggled with him and thereby the shots. We were afraid to go near because he had pointed out the gun when he came out of the shop. He then rushed to the motorbike and they left.”
Another eyewitness said, “I only heard gunshots. When I came around, she was lying in a pool of blood but was still breathing so we called for a taxi to transport her to the hospital.”
She was rushed to the Manhyia Government Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
