Parliament to Sit on Saturday, July 25 to Clear Pending Business

Parliament will sit on Saturday, July 25, 2026, to deal with outstanding business, Majority Leader Hon. Mahama Ayariga has announced.

Presenting the Business Statement for the tenth week ending Friday, July 25, 2026, Mr Ayariga said the extra sitting will allow the House to continue commentary on the Mid-Year Review of the Budget Statement and Economic Policy.

The Minister for Finance, Hon. Cassiel Ato Forson, is expected to present the Mid-Year Review of the 2026 Financial Year to Parliament on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

According to the Majority Leader, who is also Chairman of the Business Committee, there are currently 486 referrals before 27 Committees awaiting consideration and report to the House.

He urged Committee Chairpersons to expedite work on the referrals before Parliament proceeds on recess.

The House will also engage four Ministers during the tenth week to respond to 25 questions filed by Members.

Parliament is expected to adjourn for recess shortly after dealing with the mid-year review and other pending matters.
