“Otumfuo Represents the Face of Ghana” – Olu of Warri Praises Asantehene’s 27-Year Leadership 

The Olu of Warri Kingdom in Nigeria, His Royal Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, has described Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as the “face of Ghana,” crediting him with 27 years of steady leadership that has anchored peace and stability in the country and beyond.

Speaking at the ‘World-Meets-in-Ghana Executive Dinner Ball’ held on April 24, 2026, at the Manhyia Palace to mark the Asantehene’s 27th enstoolment anniversary, the Olu of Warri lauded Otumfuo as a “builder and guardian of peace.”

“I celebrate you as you mark 27 years of steady and disciplined leadership. I affirm Otumfuo as a builder and guardian of peace, which is the result of deliberate leadership. I must highlight your influence on stability within Ghana and beyond,” he stated.

The Nigerian monarch said Otumfuo’s reign demonstrates how traditional authority can shape national development when deployed with wisdom and consistency.

“Otumfuo, in his own regal way, represents the face of Ghana,” he said. “I make it clear that peace enables growth, investment, and dignity. It leads to outcomes in communities built on trust and continuity.”

The Olu of Warri Kingdom used the occasion to affirm solidarity between the Warri Kingdom and the Asante Kingdom, pledging his continued goodwill to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He prayed for longevity for the Asantehene and commended his 27 years of “steady and disciplined leadership,” describing him as a builder and guardian of peace whose influence has extended beyond Ghana.

The dinner ball drew high-profile personalities, including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama.
