NSMQ’s Francisca Lamini Secures Scholarship To Harvard University

An Alumnus of the Keta Senior High School and contestant in the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Francisca Lamini has secured a scholarship to Harvard University.

The news was shared on Facebook by TV personality, Bella Mundi and on the NSMQ Twitter handle.

Reports indicate that the young lady will undertake an undergraduate program at Harvard University after which she would gain admission into Harvard Medical school, her dream school, after successful completion of the university.

The post from Bella Mundi indicated that Ghanaian business leader, Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh is behind the scholarship.

“When @therealangela_k heard of how brilliant Francisca Lamini was, she expressed interest in helping this young lady, and rallied some of her friend CEOs to meet her. At that meeting, Francisca mentioned that she would love to go to Harvard Medical School.

“Well, I can confidently say that months later, the #NSMQ sensation from Keta Senior High, is on her way to fulfilling her dreams, and has been granted a full scholarship to complete an undergraduate program at Harvard. After successful completion, she would gain admission into Harvard Medical school, or, any other Ivy league Medical school of her choice” Bela Mundi’s Facebook page relayed.

Francisca reportedly passed the 2021 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with distinction with 8As.

Together with her team, Francisca led her school, the Keta Senior High School, to third place after Presbyterian Boys Secondary School (PRESEC) and Prempeh College in the 2021 National Science and Maths Quiz.

Admiration for her sprang up due to the fact that she had been the first female to represent at the Grand finale in the competition after years.
