Ablakwa’s Petition Against Rev Kusi Boateng Receiving Attention
The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has acknowledged receipt of a petition to investigate the transfer of funds from the state to Rev Victor Kusi Boateng, a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Cathedral.
The Commission confirmed it had received the petition on Wednesday.
The petition was presented to the Commission on January 16 by Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa who alleges perpetration of conflict of interest.
The legislator had earlier revealed the country made a payment of GHC2.6 million to one JNS Talent Centre Limited, a company co-owned by three identified as Johannes Eshun, Sheila Eshun and Kwabena Adu Gyamfi.
His investigations, he said, revealed that Rev Kusi Boateng is the same as Kwabena Adu Gyamfi who co-owns JNS.
“Unimpeachable and incontrovertible evidence confirms that Mr Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is the famous Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng who still serves on the National Cathedral Board as an Executive Council Member/Director. For the avoidance of doubt, there is no distinct Kwabena Adu Gyamfi. Kwabena Adu Gyamfi is a criminal creation of Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng. The two are therefore one and the same.”
He finds the transfer as a conflict of interest.
“Clearly, Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng AKA Kwabena Adu Gyamfi sat on the Cathedral board and literally paid his own company a staggering GHS2.6 million for no work done. When the siphoning was completed, they captured the same as “Contractors Mobilization” and presented it to Parliament hoping that they would legitimize the dubious transaction and therefore get away with murder.”
Two days after petitioning the Commission, he received a reaction.
The Director of Corruption at the Commission, Stephen Azantilow, in a letter addressed to the lawmaker said the complaint is receiving attention.
“I am directed to acknowledge receipt of your complaint on the above subject matter lodged with the Commission on the 16th of January 2023 and to inform you that it is receiving attention”.
Meanwhile, Rev Kusi Boateng says the narration by Ablakwa is a twisted narration of events and is maliciously intended.
He is looking forward to the investigations of the CHRAJ to present his side, he said in a statement.
