Nana Dwamena Akenten II Is The Legitimate Offinso Chief

The elders, kingmakers, and divisional heads of the Offinso Traditional Council have emphatically declared that Nana Dwamena Akenten II is the sole paramount chief in the Offinso Traditional Council, dismissing any other claimant disregarding customs and traditions governing the entoolment of a chief.

They made this pronouncement at the Offinso Palace during their council meeting chaired by the newly enstooled Offinsomanhene, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, on Monday, March 25, 2024.

This announcement follows a video circulating on social media portraying Dr. K. K. Sarpong receiving greetings and appellations as a chief.

Speaking with Opemsuo Radio’s Kwame Adu Gyamfi Kumanin on the above-mentioned issue, Offinsomanhene Kyeame Kwaku Wiafe said kingmakers officially recognize Nana Dwamena Akenten II as the Offinso Paramount Chief, who has sworn the oath of allegiance to Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He indicated that the council will involve the police to deal with the unwarranted action on the part of Dr. K. K. Sarpong concerning Offinso stool affairs.

Kyeame Wiafe indicated that the residents of Offinso Traditional Council are not happy with Dr. K. K. Sarpong.

“Dr. K. K. Sarpong is not a legitimate royal of the Offinso Traditional Council; that is why he is opposing the kingmakers of the Offinso Traditional Council,” Kyeame Wiafe stressed.

He said the newly selected Chief of Offinso Traditional Council, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, wants to maintain peace, which is why he has called for calmness.

“We all support Offinso Paramount Chief, Nana Dwamena Akenten II,” Kyeame Wiafe announced.
