NADMO Relaunches National DRR & Climate Risk Platform

The National Disaster Management Organisation has officially relaunched the National Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Risk Management to deepen collaboration and build a more resilient Ghana.

Speaking at the relaunch, NADMO Director General Major Dr Joseph Bikanyi Kuyon described the initiative as a major step toward enhancing the nation’s preparedness and response to climate-related disasters and other emerging risks.

He said the platform will serve as a vital mechanism for bringing together experts, policymakers, development partners and other stakeholders to promote knowledge-sharing, coordinate interventions and develop strategic actions to reduce disaster risks and strengthen climate resilience across the country.

The event featured presentations by practitioners on the role of the National Platform, disaster risk reduction and climate change risk management, and early warning systems.

The sessions were aimed at enhancing stakeholder engagement and strengthening collective efforts toward national resilience.

In his closing remarks, Deputy Director General in charge of Sustainable Livelihood and Community Empowerment, Hon. Albert Alalzuuga Akuka, urged stakeholders to remain actively engaged with the platform and contribute meaningfully to its objectives.

He expressed confidence that sustained dialogue, cooperation and commitment from all actors will ensure the success of the relaunched platform and help advance Ghana’s disaster risk reduction and climate resilience agenda.
