Marwako To Return To Service After FDA Approval

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has given Marwako Fast Food Limited the nod to reopen its East Legon branch.

The FDA announced it had closed down the East Legon branch of Marwako Fast Food Limited on May 12, 2022, after a series of reports of food poisoning allegations flooded social media from persons who had eaten from the Marwako branch at East Legon.

The FDA subsequently proceeded to its two other branches-Abelenkpe and La branches- to shut them down as well.

In an update last month the FDA said it found that foods served at all branches of Marwako Fast Food Limited were “heavily” contaminated.

However in a letter dated July 8, 2022 and signed by the CEO of the FDA, Delese Darko, addressed to the General Manager of the food service joint, the latter was informed about the suspension of the operational ban.

The reason, it said, was the FDA’s satisfaction with the progress in the implementation of the Corrective Prevention Action (CAPA) by the catering services.
