Management Of Tagoe Sisters Apologises For Blacklisting Zapp Mallet

The Management of legendary music duo Tagoe Sisters has issued an unreserved apology to music producer and sound engineer Zapp Mallet after leaving him out of celebrations marking their 40th Anniversary in the music industry.

The head of the team, Nii Amarh Armateifio, acknowledged the producer’s contribution to their success in the music industry but noted that his exclusion was an “oversight”.

“It was an unpardonable oversight on the part of management/event organizers as the Tagoe Sisters added his name to the list of VIP guests to be invited for both events at the Underbridge and the Accra International Conference Center.”

In the bid to emphasise their regret, he said, “the 1989 release was an album and the producer of same cannot be no other than you, sir.”

Zapp produced the second album of the Tagoe Sisters titled “Stay In My Heart”.

The apology comes after Zapp opened up about being blacklisted from the event of the Twins and expressed his disappointment at their action in an interview.

He is quoted as saying, “I wasn’t invited so I guess I wasn’t part of their musical team. Meanwhile, I did an album with them so I was supposed to have been there. They didn’t even call me to tell me. Nothing came. I just saw the publicity on social media and a lot of billboards, some at East Legon so those who were invited went, Meanwhile, I wasn’t invited. I guess I wasn’t part of their musical team. “

The duo launched their 40th Anniversary celebration earlier this year under the theme ‘40 years of God’s Glory and Favour’, and have since embarked on some activities to mark it.

They held a concert at the Grand Arena in Accra on September 23, 2023, followed by a fundraising and 40th anniversary dinner night on September 30 at the Gold Coast Kempinski Hotel.

They are scheduled to have similar activities and more in the Ashanti Region, including a courtesy call on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, according to Management.
