Man “Steals” Boss 69k Then Tells Police He Was Robbed

Suspect, Godfred Kataso, has reportedly admitted to stealing his boss’ sixty-nine thousand Ghana cedis (GHC69,000) and then lying to the police that he was robbed of the amount, according to the police.

Per the police report, the suspect, who is currently in police custody, on February 11, 2022, filed a robbery report with the Accra Central Police Station that two young men robbed him of GHC69,000 around the National Theatre on his way to deposit the money at the bank.

He indicated that the said amount belonged to his boss.

The Police say investigations into the report established that the alleged robbery was a hoax.

“During interrogation, the suspect confirmed feigning the robbery as he stole the money himself to enable him to travel abroad” a police report stated.
