Mahama To Launch Flagbearership Bid

Two days away from today, former President John Dramani Mahama will launch his bid to lead the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 General Elections.

The event will take place in the Volta Region.

In a Facebook post, he said, “Fellow countrymen and women, I will on Thursday, March 02, 2023, launch my bid to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the 2024 elections at the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Sokode near Ho.”

The event will be held at the Cedi Auditorium at UHAS.

It will also be streamed on his Facebook page or YouTube channel from 9.00 am, he said.

Mr Mahama picked nomination forms last week to contest in the NDC flagbearership race.

This was after he declared his intention to lead the party once again after failed attempts in 2016 and 2020.

Also contesting are former Finance Minister Kwabena Duffuor, former Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), Kojo Bonsu and Ernest Kwaku Kobeah.

The presidential primaries for the NDC will be held on May 13, 2023.

The NDC is seeking to recapture power in 2024, an objective that forced its national executives to render changes to the leadership of their Parliamentary caucus last month.
