Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park Closed Till Further Notice

The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture has announced the closure of the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

This was contained in a notice to the general public.

It was closed on Friday, May 27, and will remain closed to the public “until further notice”, a statement signed by the Chief Director, John Yao Agbeko noted.

“This is to allow for major works to upgrade the Memorial Park to a standard that benefits the stature of the former President and boosts the attractiveness of the Park and overall tourism performance of the country.

“We apologise to the general public for any inconvenience that this may cause”, the notice said.

It will be recalled that President Akufo-Addo while reading an address on the state of the Nation in March this year, said three tourist sites including the Cape Coast Castle and the Elmina Castle, and the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park were going to taste “comprehensive innovation and modernisation”.
