Kufuor Very Much Alive And Well- Aide

“The former President is very much alive and well,” the senior aide to former President John Agyekum Kufuor, Kwabena Osei-Adubofour has said discrediting death reports.

In a statement, the Office of the former President said it has been receiving messages concerning the alleged death of the former President in recent times but established that the news is baseless.

“The office of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has, over the past several days inundated with persistent rumours of the supposed passing away of Former President John Agyekum Kufuor.”

It linked the recent development to politics saying “We can only speculate that the perpetrators do so out of mischief-making and possibly for unfathomable political purposes.”

On that note, it called on the public to disregard the “malicious and uncanny” communication.

“We therefore urge the general public to disabuse their minds of their minds of these malicious and uncanny rumours.”

Mr Kufuor was Ghana’s President from January 2001 to January 2009.

He is now 84 years old.
