One Dead; Six Arrested Over Land Dispute At Atwima

The Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has arrested six persons in the Ashanti Region following a land and chieftaincy dispute that resulted in the death of one person at Adum Afrancho near Atwima Kwanwoma in the Ashanti Region.

According to a statement from police, the incident occurred early hours of yesterday, Sunday, July 3, 2022, at about 7:00 am, when two factions met on family land, where a struggle ensued.

During the altercation, the deceased, known as Kwame Yeboah, aged 23, was allegedly stabbed to death by Kwadwo Brefo, who is among the suspects arrested by police.

However, two individuals, including the suspect, Kwadwo Brefo, sustained injuries and are being treated at the hospital under police guard.

The Police have restored calm and have beefed up security in the area.
