Kristo Asafo Mission Alleges Adwoa Safo Rammed Church Gates, Denies Shooting Claims

The leadership of Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana has accused former MP Sarah Adwoa Safo of ramming her vehicle into the church’s entrance gates at Kwabenya on June 21, 2026, and has denied reports that she was shot by her brother during the incident.

In a statement, the church said the incident occurred after a lawful event at the premises. According to the church, Adwoa Safo arrived and “forcefully drove her vehicle into the entrance gates of the property,” striking two metallic gates and causing substantial damage.

“At the time of the incident, numerous worshippers and invited guests were present within the premises, including individuals seated in close proximity to the entrance,” the statement said.

The church added that the action “created a serious risk to life and property,” noting that had the gates collapsed, or the vehicle proceeded further, attendees could have been “gravely endangered.”

Security personnel on duty intervened to prevent further escalation and to protect those gathered, with the church saying their actions were “directed solely toward preserving public safety and preventing injury to attendees.”

The statement also addressed unverified social media reports claiming Adwoa Safo was shot by her brother and was presenting a “purported victim presentation” to suggest she had sustained a gunshot injury.

“We categorically reject these allegations as false and misleading,” Kristo Asafo Mission said. “To the best of our knowledge and based on information presently available to us, no such shooting occurred.”

The church has called on relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation into all aspects of the incident.

It also urged the public to refrain from drawing conclusions based on unverified social media reports and to allow law enforcement to establish the facts through due process.

“Our organisation remains committed to peace, truth, the rule of law, and the safety of all persons who attend our events,” the statement added.
