KMA, Bloomberg Philanthropies Launch Youth Climate Action Fund 2.0 with $50,000 Microgrants

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies, has launched the second phase of the Youth Climate Action Fund to support young people driving climate solutions in the metropolis.
Announcing the initiative, Mayor of Kumasi, Hon. Richard Ofori-Agyeman Boadi, said the fund is aimed at empowering innovative young residents aged 15 to 24 to lead projects that address and mitigate the pressing issues of climate change.
Under the current phase, an initial allocation of $50,000 has been made available to provide microgrants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000.
The grants will go to young individuals and supporting organisations within Kumasi with viable proposals that contribute to climate action in the city.
The Mayor called on talented youth in the metropolis to submit proposals that can propel collective efforts toward building a more climate-resilient Kumasi.
The Youth Climate Action Fund is being implemented by KMA with support from Bloomberg Philanthropies, the Youth Climate Action Fund, and UCLG.
The initiative forms part of a global network of cities working to engage young people in local climate governance and solutions.
