‘It’s Been a Blessing to Take Instructions from Carlos Queiroz’ – Brandon Thomas-Asante Discloses

Solomon Brandon Michael Clarke Thomas-Asante, a Ghanaian of Jamaican descent, who plays for Coventry City, has articulated a captivating message after some training sessions under Carlos Queiroz.

Thomas has a total of 5 appearances for the Black Stars of Ghana since his debut call-up in December 2023, with his first appearance occurring on June 10, 2024, in a World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Coventry City striker, Brandon Thomas-Asante, netted his last and only goal for the Black Stars of Ghana against Nigeria on 28th May 2025, at the Gtech Community Stadium, where they suffered a 2-1 defeat during the 2025 Unity Cup.
Brandon Thomas-Asante recently celebrated his promotion to the English Premier League, following an impressive season in the EFL Championship.

During this campaign, he contributed to his team’s success by winning 28 matches, drawing 11, and losing 7 out of a total of 46 games, which allowed them to accumulate 95 points and secure the top position in the league table.
The prolific centre-forward has been invited to feature in Ghana’s friendly game against Wales in Cardiff, where he has spoken on the emotional significance of representing the nation of his roots on football’s biggest stage.
“It’s always the biggest privilege; I think it’s something that, since I was young, when I was going to the games, I used to pray, believe and dream of achieving one day. Now, to be here is incredible. To be able to prepare for the World Cup is something that, as I say, I’ve been praying for since I was a child,” he stated.

He recounted the impact of Carlos Queiroz’s experience and how he feels fortunate to be under the instructions of the Portuguese international.
“He is a very good guy; all of us were listening to how he wants us to play and understanding his ideas, so it’s been a blessing. As a player, in your career, you have to listen to every coach and take the things you want to learn,” Asante stated.
