Vetting Chaos Probe: Minority Cites Bedzrah’s Chairmanship for Boycott

The Minority in Parliament has cited Emmanuel Bedzrah’s role as the chairman of the Adhoc Committee set up to probe the chaos that marred the vetting of some Ministerial nominees for it’s boycott of the proceedings.

The group has abstained from the probe sanctioned by the Speaker since it commenced work last week.

In a memo to the Chairman of the Committee dated February 10 ,2025, it noted that it had already informed the Speaker about its abstainance and was awaiting his next line of action.

“I write to inform you that I have submitted a memorandum to the Rt Hon Speaker on behalf of the Minority Caucus regarding concerns surrounding your continued Chairmanship of the Adhoc Committee’s proceeding,” a part of the memo read.

It urged the chairman not to misconstrue it as unwillingness on their part.

It explained, “It is a necessary step to ensure that due process is followed and the process remains fair, impartial and credible.”

The Minority is hoping the Speaker will uphold integrity in his response to their concerns.
