IGP Petitioned To Investigate Criminal Allegations By Kennedy Agyapong

A petition to the Inspector General of Police has called on the police chief, Dr. George Akufo Dampare to investigate some “criminal allegations” made by Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong.

The petitioner, Mahmud Osman in the letter dated November 11, 2021, and addressed to the IGP, referred to a viral video in which the MP asserted that former President, John Dramani Mahama was responsible for the death of the Abuakwa North MP, J.B. Dankwah who was stabbed to death by unknown assailants at his residence on February 9, 2016.

It added, “Hon. Kennedy Agyapong in the said interview, further alleged that the former MP was in possession of his naked pictures”.

The petitioner called on the IGP to institute a full-scale interview into the said allegations and institute criminal charges against Kennedy Agyapong if the allegations are unfounded.

“I also pray your office will institute criminal proceedings against Hon. Kennedy Agyapong for the publication of false news and for offensive conduct conducive for the breach of peace, if your investigations reveal that the Honourable MP’s claims were without merit”, the petition sighted by opemsuo.com concluded.
