Health Ministry to Resolve Challenges with May Arrears Payment of Some Nurses, Midwives

The Ministry of Health says it is working to address challenges that left some members of the 2020 batch of nurses and midwives without their full May arrears payment.
According to the Ministry, the three months of outstanding arrears for 2025 were scheduled and executed in May 2026, in line with the payment plan issued by the Ministry of Finance.
However, the Ministry noted that isolated cases emerged where individuals did not receive the full amount due.
The Ministry attributed the shortfall to payment discrepancies and said it is collaborating with the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to identify affected staff and correct the errors.
It confirmed that the outstanding amounts will be paid alongside the June scheduled payments once the process is completed.
The Ministry thanked the affected health workers for their patience and reiterated its commitment to ensuring all legitimate payments are made.
It said further updates will be provided as the resolution process advances.
The issue affects nurses and midwives from the 2020 batch who have previously raised concerns over delays in salary and allowance processing since their posting after national service.
