Kantanka was an Accomplished Man, Honour His Memory- Otumfuo tells Family

The Monarch of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has charged the family of the late founder of the Kantanka Automobile, Apostle Dr Kwadwo Safo, to accord him the needed honour and respect in death.

During a visit to the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo highlighted his successes and accomplishments, urging the family to avoid actions that could tarnish his memory.

“In accordance with tradition, make my office abreast with all preparations and avoid all forms of violence and misunderstandings that may mar the funeral.

“He was an accomplished man, and so he must be accorded the needed honour. Go by tradition to avoid any misunderstandings. Whatever you plan must be in accordance with tradition.”

The family was led by Nana Osei Fosu Adutwum, Kwasohene, to inform the Asantehene of his demise on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.

Among the delegation were former Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya Constituency, Hon Sarah Adwoa Safo and her siblings, namely Ohemaa Ama Safowaa and Nana Ama Safo Nyankonton.

The technological icon, philanthropist, agriculturalist and industrialist known as Kantanka passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
