Germany and Ghana Sign MoU to Deepen Trade and Skills Partnership

The German Embassy in Ghana and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana, AHK Ghana, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and making it easier for German and Ghanaian companies to connect and collaborate.
The agreement comes as bilateral trade between the two countries continues to expand. Trade volume reached EUR 744.7 million in 2025, an 18% increase over 2024.
The growth reflects stronger Ghana–Germany economic relations and the increasing presence of German firms operating in Ghana.
Under the MoU, processes for Ghanaian businesses with German ties will be streamlined, access to commercial opportunities will improve, and investment flows are expected to strengthen on both sides.
Beyond trade, the partnership also targets skills development for young Ghanaians. The Delegation will expand opportunities through the Apprenticeship – Employment in Germany and the Dual Vocational Training “African Skills 4 Germany” programmes.
Both initiatives offer hands-on learning experience with German companies and are designed to equip participants with practical skills for future careers.
Officials say the MoU reinforces not only commercial ties but also people-to-people connections that underpin long-term growth.
By aligning business facilitation with vocational training, the agreement seeks to build a pipeline of skilled talent while deepening the economic relationship between Ghana and Germany.
