Power Outages Hit Parts of Ashanti Region – Here’s Why

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has issued a statement explaining the cause of power outage in Kumasi and parts of the Ashanti Region.
Residents of Kumasi experienced power disruption on Thursday night and Friday morning.
According to the Company, the outage was caused by multiple cable faults.
“The Electricity Company of Ghana wishes to inform our cherished customers and the general public in the Ashanti Region that the outage being experienced across some parts of the region is as a result of multiple cable faults at the Ridge Bulk Supply Point in Kumasi near Georgia Hotel.”
The company also attached pictures of the faulty cables to the statement.
It assured the affected customers that it’s Engineers are working assiduously to rectify the fault and restore supply.
Additionally, the ECG appologised, saying it regretted the inconvenience caused.
