France Ambassador Picks KNUST as His Favourite Ghanaian University

The Ambassador of France to Ghana, Jules-Armand Aniambossou, says the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is his favourite tertiary institution.

According to him, students from the institution are “brilliant and smart”.

He made a disclosure of his observation to the King of the Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace on June 6, 2025, while discussing an exchange programme collaboration reached between an engineering tertiary institution in France and the KNUST.

“I’m very pleased Your Royal Majesty that Ghana is the first country in the French network of diplomacy that we have launched a programme on Artificial Intelligence with KNUST. I don’t want to say the other universities are not my favourite but KNUST is my favourite university for many reasons. They are very brilliant and smart.”

He further shared with the King his experience during a visit to the institution in November 2023 which had to do with its quality research in AI in Agriculture, AI in Health, AI in Energy and the ethical use of AI.

HE Aniambossou confessed that France was learning more from the Ghanaian institution.

“We have been learning a lot from these students in KNUST. They are working on very concrete and very practical applications linked to health. They are looking at how it will be useful to the villages with no hospitals as well as artificial intelligence agriculture.”
