Former Tepa SHS Teacher Alleges Defilement by 4 Teachers

A former teacher at Tepa Senior High School (SHS) has come forward with a disturbing account of how four male teachers allegedly defiled a student at the school.

In an interview on Nkwantannanso on May 25, the former teacher, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated, “I witnessed the unimaginable act committed by these teachers, and it is my duty to shed light on this grave injustice.”

According to him, the victim’s father, who happened to be a soldier, lodged a complaint with the school authorities regarding the incident.

Recalling the confrontation with one of the accused teachers, Sulemana Dauda, the former teacher shared, “Dauda accused me of having a conversation with the girl and recording it to send it to her father. He said I reported the teachers to the soldier. I vehemently denied these baseless allegations. .”

Upon denying these accusations, three other teachers joined Sulemana Dauda and subjected the former teacher to physical assault in the presence of students.

He expressed his disbelief at the turn of events, stating, “I never imagined that speaking out against their actions would lead to such a violent response though in reality, I wasn’t the one that reported them.”

Describing the physical assault he endured, he emotionally narrated, “I was beaten like a thief, with no regard for my well-being. It was a traumatic experience that haunts me to this day.”

He added, “I suffer from a problem with my left eye as a direct result of the beatings I received that day.”

He reported the the matter directly to the Tepahene (traditional ruler) and the police.

During the subsequent meeting at the police station, the former teacher stated, “The headmaster initially denied that the incident ever occurred, claiming he would have been informed if something of this nature had taken place. He later suggested to settle the matter outside the police station.

Expressing his disappointment, he emphasized, “Sulemana Dauda, one of the accused teachers, was not present at the meeting. It seemed as though he was evading accountability.”

Disturbed by the lack of consequences, he added, “It is disheartening to know that these teachers continue to teach at the school, potentially putting other students at risk.”

According to the former teacher, justice was never served in his case, as no action was taken by the school authorities.
