Fix our Bridge before it Kills – Residents of Abrepo Kokoso Bemoan

Residents of Abrepo Kokoso in the Bantama Constituency of the Ashanti region have expressed deep concern over the perilous condition of a bridge in their community. They are urgently appealing to the authorities to address the issue before it leads to a disaster.

The metal bridge, constructed by a generous individual approximately four years ago, has now become a potential danger to the lives of the residents. It spans over River Akos or Punpunase, connecting to the Nwabe River.

The deteriorating state of the bridge is a cause for alarm as it poses a severe risk to the safety and well-being of those who depend on it.

Of particular worry is the fact that school children also utilize the bridge, exposing themselves to potential harm. The bridge serves as a crucial transportation route for many individuals in the community. However, each time it rains, the condition of the bridge further deteriorates, exacerbating the risk.

A concerned commuter expressed, “When it rains, and you are still in town, it’s always a problem.”

The commuters, witnessing the poor state of the bridge, have lamented the lack of attention and immediate action from both the government and the Member of Parliament for the Bantama Constituency, Hon. Asenso Boakye.

The residents of Abrepo Kokoso are calling for urgent intervention to repair the bridge and ensure the safety of all individuals who rely on it. They are appealing to the relevant authorities to address the issue promptly, emphasizing the potential hazards and risks associated with the deteriorating state of the bridge.

The plea of the residents highlights the pressing need for immediate action to prevent any tragic incidents and to secure the well-being of the community members who utilize the bridge on a daily basis.
