ECG Announces Planned Power Outage in Parts of Ashanti Region for Maintenance Works

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of planned maintenance works across parts of the Ashanti Region that will result in temporary power outages on Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

According to notices issued by ECG, the exercise is aimed at improving service delivery in the affected communities. The company said the outages are necessary to enable its technical teams to undertake maintenance works on its network.

On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, power supply will be interrupted from 9:00am to 4:00pm in Mamponteng, Dwumanafo, Aboaso, Hemang, Ankaase Hospital, Mpobi, Ejuratia, Kona, Asonomaso, part of Agona and surrounding areas. The same day, between 9:00am and 4:00pm, residents of Emena, Boadi, Apemso, Appiadu, Donyina, parts of Deduako, Anwomaso Town, Oduom, Fumesua, Kwamo and surrounding areas will also be affected.

On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, ECG will carry out maintenance works from 9:00am to 3:00pm in part of Fawoade, part of Asenua, Meduma, Essen Besease, Taboum and surrounding areas. Another outage will occur in part of Effiduase, Ntukumso, Buoyaa and surrounding areas within the same hours.

Additionally, from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Wednesday, areas including Gausu, Bidiem, Nyameso, Nhyiaeso, Tweapiase, Hia, Numerso, Fehiakobo, Sukulumu, Domiabra and surrounding areas will experience the interruption. Part of Kumawu Township, Etia SHS, Abrebrakyewe, Bodomase, Kumawu, Aninangya, Wueaso, AbotansoAgona, Etia, Oyoko, Sekyere, Dadiase and surrounding areas will also be affected during those hours.

ECG expressed regret for any inconvenience the exercise may cause and has urged residents in the affected areas to take note and make the necessary arrangements.

The company says the maintenance works form part of its broader efforts to enhance power reliability and improve customer service across the region.
