Don’t Be Fooled Into Paying Money For a Stool- Otumfuo

The occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised persons seeking to assume any stool under his authority to wise up against offering money for them.

In an enlightening address during a Kumasi Traditional Council meeting on April 8, 2024, His Majesty said chieftaincy and stools have no monetary value.

“Chieftaincy is not bought with money…Those throwing away money just to ascend a stool must wise up and wake up from their daydreaming. Do not pay money to anyone for any stool if you are an heir. Use the right channel and if you are not one don’t try getting it.”

He said heirs who petition his office about their grievances will have their cases thoroughly investigated, with the right person subsequently installed.

His Majesty, for the umpteenth time, avowed his commitment to restoring all misplaced stools to rightful royal families and true heirs, noting, “I won’t deny heirs, their rightful inheritance and I won’t give my backing to people who are unjustly occupying a position”.

“My reign for the past 25 years has been directed at restoring royals to their stools. I will not in any way compromise at that,” he affirmed.
