Court Remands Nungua Queen Shooter

A district court in the Greater Accra Region has remanded the suspect in the shooting incident of the Queen of the Ga-Adangme Muslim Union (Nungua West), Naa Borley, known as Naa Gamu.

The shooting incident occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2025, during her enstoolment.

According to a police statement, the suspect, Samuel Adjei, discharged live ammunition from a single-barrel gun, striking the deceased in the right thigh.

“She was rushed to the Hospital for medical attention but died while receiving treatment.”

Following the arraignment of the suspect on February 26, the court denied him bail remanding him into police custody for two weeks.

Per the statement, the suspect was arraigned on the charge of murder.

He is expected to reappear in court on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
