G/AR: ECG Blames “Heavy Rainstorm” For Wednesday Night’s Outage

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has blamed “heavy rainstorm” for last night’s extensive power cut to the Greater Accra Region.

The rainstorm, it said, caused faults.

In a statement, it assured that its engineers were working around the clock to fix the technical glitches.

“ECG wishes to assure all affected customers that our Engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore the power supply.”

It directed customers experiencing localised outages to its contact centre on 0302611611, report to the nearest ECG office, lodge a complaint on the ECG PowerApp or reach out via our social media handles @EGghOfficial on Facebook, X, or Instagram for prompt intervention.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience caused to the affected customers,” it added.
